Delicious Dinner at Strega. It was raining in the North End which made for a nice quiet night. We decided to dine at Strega. It was a great choice. The restaurant is very warm and cozy. We started with the Burratta which is soft mozzarella with thinly sliced prosciutto and tomatoes. We ordered a nice bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and enjoyed Sorrentino, Veal Fagottino and Linguine alle Vongole.. The entrees were delicious as were the desserts. We shared the cheesecake and chocolate mousse, both were fantastic!!
Total disappointment. The maitre d was rude. Food wasn’t great, no recommendations! Not going back anytime soon!
Quaint & Delicious. I stopped by for a late night dinner on a Friday night. I had the special (zuppa di pesce) which was a HUGE plate of seafood and pasta. Incredibly delicious and a fun atmosphere with various Italian movies playing on several screens. An especially friendly staff and the off chance you’ll see a celebrity.Definitely stop by Strega if you have a chance.
Mediocre food at outrageous prices. With dozens of other options in the North end there is no reason to go here.
Amazing Italian Dinner. This small but very popular Italian eatery is located in the North End. Two negatives, parking is pretty much valet only and the wait could be awhile depending on how nice it is outside. This place is also very pricey compared to other Italian restaurants. However, it is all worth it once you finish your meal. The wine menu is filled with many unknowns which is a very good thing if you are looking for something different. The fresh bread and the olives in olive oil is a great start to the meal. Appetizers and the main course dishes were excellent and the freshness of each plate was unbelievable. Not very often can you find a place service mozzarella this fresh. Everything really did taste like it was just made from scratch. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Plates were rotated in and out perfectly along with the continuous flow of bread and olives. There is no dessert on the menu and the decor of the restaurant was different. One big plasma TV over near the bar and the wall light up with yellow has a row of plasmas also. Very creative, just like the menu.
My family is born and raised very Italian and have enjoyed some of the most authentic and tasty Italian food in our home, and all over rhode island and boston. Well all agree that Strega takes the cake as our favorite Italian restaurant. It’s a necessity to start with their amazing Caesar salads. We have tried many of their pasta dishes and each one is incredibly impressive and delicious. You know you’re in good hands there, and some of bostons biggest stars also know this. Never know who youll run into…
Really good. Expensive here but very good. the hostess there last time i went is probably one of the hottest chicks i’ve seen in my life. the italian gangster movies playing nonstop, pictures of celebs all over the place on their visits MAKE IT A COOL PLACE TO BE IN A GREAT PART OF THE NORTH END.
