Sports bar atmosphere Loud …. Sports bar atmosphereLoud and boisterous in a small restaurant. My husband and I were unable to hear each other even when shouting. . Staff not accommodating especially the rude hostess. Food just average. Many better choices for Italian in the North End.

Love it!. My parents and I ate at Trattoria di Monica on October 11th for lunch. Rose was our waitress and was fantastic. We had the bruschetta for an appetizer along with the special – a lightly fried vegetable. I had a pasta dish, my parents had the gnocchi and another one of the daily specials. We thought the ambiance was great, the restaurant clean, the food wonderful. We will definitely return next time we are in Boston!

Just another North End Restaurant. 3/27/12 Table right near the door which means you freeze every time the door opens. Really not the problem. The problem is the salt in all the sauces. All 4 red sauces ordered at our table was too salty. Caesar’s Salad over-dressed. Antipasto was awesome. Meatballs were great it’s just their sauce was far to salty. Clam sauce was inedible because the chef didn’t take into account the salt from the clams and just used the pomodoro from the other dishes. Service was excellent.

Delicious! The food was absolutely delectable! I got the bolognese and it was to die for! I finished every last homemade pappadelle (their pasta). The place is very small (10 tables) so make sure to get there early so you can snag one. Definetly worth the trip to north end!

JUST GREAT. We were just passing through Boston for one night and of course were recommended to go to the North End. We walked up and down Hanover and some side streets looking in windows and posted menus, we finally setteled on Monica’s. Small, with 7 or 8 tables, it was intimate and authentic. The menu was diverse with the addition of several appetizer and entree specials. We were a party of four and all enjoyed their respective meals. We give Monicas a BIG THUMBS UP !!

In love with Monica’s!. From the moment we walked in I was in awe. Monica’s on Prince is small and romantic with only 12 square tables in the restaurant. We ordered an amazing bottle of vino, then appetizers of calamari and bruscetta. For my entree, I had the lobster ravioli (mmmm) and my boyfriend had a veal entree that was soo good! Be sure to make a reservation and you will spend a pretty penny, but it is so worth it and would be great for a romantic night.
