  Gone downhill poor service and pricey. We have been coming to India House since the eighties. The food was average then and the service was appalling but they were the only place in the area for indian food. The owner lady was brusque, rude and dismissive then. We come back every couple of years and have eaten at the other Indian place on Main Street where the food and service is much better, more authentic and reasonably priced. We ate at India House at a friend’s insistence a few years back and the owner lady literally threw the menus at my husband and spoke dismissively We went there a few weeks back and sat outside. When we decided to sit indoors instead, the wait staff showed us the way in but the owner lady blocked the dining room and asked us to leave! We had no choice but to get the meal packed and taken home and we waited for a length of time in the dark dingy hallway, while getting in everyone’s way. The hygiene level is questionable with dirt seen in many places. With the high prices and average food, we recommend dining at other area Indian restaurants.

  A+ food and ambiance. Though walking in on a Friday day means a long wait, it’s definitely worth it. I’ve tried all of the different naans and the paneer, all of which was delicious. The tikka masala with lamb is my absolute favorite entree, too! I feel like I’m visiting with someone’s Indian family, thanks to the family that seems to own it. Will definitely return.

  This is my favorite restaurant! I drive 45 minutes just to have this authentic Indian cuisine. If you like spicy, this is the place for you. If you don’t, they also have more dishes to offer!
