If you’re looking for huge, cheap pizza, this is the place. I only tried tried one large pie with shrooms. $16 bought enough to feed five. But the taste wasn’t there. Sauce tasted like cheap canned spaghetti sauce, too sweet. Cheese was sparse and only mozzarella. I’ll be going elsewhere next time I want pizza in Northhampton.

Hell’s Pizza Kitchen. Inconsistent.. Upon entering the tiny door of Mimmo’s one is struck by the stygian gloom of the place, and the permanent odor and haze of charred cornmeal and brimstone. Move towards the back, past the chipped formica tables and battered chrome stools and marvel at the brown smoke patina that coats the walls and ceilings. There in the gloom, scurry the hard working Pizzamites of this underworld. Black placards announce the varieties of pizza toppings. Pizza’s (mostly served in slices) are par-baked, then topped and re-heated to the customer’s desires. Slices are huge, cut off of gargantuan squarish pies. Here’s the problem, if the person on duty cooks the pizza long enough – then I like it – it is Italian style with a yeasty softish crust and a sour sauce that is well balanced to the mozzarella. But….. if the pizza isn’t cooked enough it tastes terrible, like spaghetti sauce on a damp cracker. In addition, the topping doesn’t adhere well to the base, so it is best to fold the slice before eating it – unless you want a slug of molten mozzarella to burn a scar tattoo across your chest – a mark that not all in this curious city would bear without pride.
Best pizza in Northapton by far. I dare to say best pizza in the Pioneer Valley!!!
