Pass.. Went in there to try a plain cheese slice of pizza…boring though it sounds, the ability of a pizza place to make a good plain cheese slice informs their ability to make all pizzas. Without all the toppings and strong flavors and razzle dazzle, a cheese slice lets you know if they have basics like sauce, cheese, and crust down. Unfortunately they do not. The crust was doughy and under-cooked, the cheese was sickening and scarce, the sauce unmemorable. I also had a coconut smoothie that ended up being thin and juicelike, also not great. It may be that they have better pizza once you disguise it in toppings or that they have decent nightlife…but they were a pass for me.
Great pizza, nice hang out spot. This place has a huge selection of pizza, like I have never seen before. I am new to the area and Sam’s had become a favorite of mine. I love the black bean avocado, the veggie and tomato basil. Always fresh ingredients and a good size slice. The live music sets the atmosphere and is topped off by the outdoor seating and huge glass window doors.
Crowded on a Friday night they have live music a variety of pizzas the guy next to me had a Mac and cheese pizza, salads, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks/ coffe/ alcohol. Good service. Great Caesar salad. Buffalo chicken pizza was spicy and needs more blue cheese. Stuffed steak and cheese was good but too much BBQ flavor needs A1 and more cheese.
TRY THE CHEESE CAKE BROWNIES. they are fabulous, they melt in your mouth. and of course there pizza is really good and have a good Cesar salad!
One of Hamp’s best pizzerias.. Sam’s is so cramped that the entrance is like slipping through an electrical socket. At the end of the twin tubes is a counter with an array of pizza with interesting and sophisticated topping, like bean and avocado, feta and tomato, bacon and beef and plain cheese. The slices are very large and have generous amounts of cheese and topping. I find the cheese pizza (the default standard for a good pizza) to be nice, but a little dull. The cheese is of good quality, but the sauce is a little sweet and uninteresting. They also make quite good sandwiches. Overall, value is very good for Main Street.
