Perfect for breakfast, lunch, or evening drinks and snacks. Large and interesting menu selection, some of the friendliest service in town, and no more expensive than any other Northampton cafe. Try the Williston rooster roll, it’s one of my all-time favorite sandwiches!
Yes, it’s pricey but you get what you pay for! The food is fresh and made with local ingredients. My favorite thing is that their sides change daily. One day it’s peanut noodles and the next you get waldorf salad and the staff is super friendly. Definitely a must!!
Nice ambiance . Clean and efficient but food is a little pricy but great quality. I suppose the two go hand in hand. Only complaint about the Williston sandwich is that they put a little too much olive oil. Was oily.
It’s waffle LOVE. It is a bit pricey, but at least the food IS really good and you walk away with a happy tummy! and i have the feeling they pay their workers a decent wage. it just has that vibe of non-surly service (everyone is quite nice there that i’ve dealt with) where you don’t feel like you’re totallly exploiting the workers by patronizing the place. the waffles are my fave-so crisp and robust and tasty! and the little breakfast avocado sandwiches-yum!
Nice but pricy, even for Noho. I like the Roost and would go back, but I had a mixed first experience. The ambience is nice, very clean, plenty of seating, interesting decor, and some intriguing menu options. However, I thought it was a bit pricy, even for Northampton. I ordered a breakfast sandwich ($6-$7) and an ice coffee ($2-$3) to go. Roost just does one size for iced coffee, 16 ozs. My cup was filled and they left a bunch of space at the top even though I didn’t ask for it. For the sandwich, I appreciate the attempt at eco-friendly packaging (see pic), but there was so much oil that leaked through BOTH layers of wax and brown paper and made a bit of a mess in my hand. The sandwich was tasty, but at $6+, there are many other breakfast options in town where one can get more for the price and of the same quality. The iced coffee was decent, but again, there are other options in town where you could get an iced coffee of similar or better quality for less $$.Overall a decent experience, but not enough to distinguish the Roost or make it a go-to spot. Will be giving them a few more chances though, as people were friendly, it was a nice environment, and the food was quality, albeit a small portion and moderate to high price.
Upscale cafe in Raildale district.. Upscale, somewhat twee coffeehouse in Northampton’s Raildale district. Wonderful lofty space with big views of the streetscape Coffee is excellent, food is good – thoughtfully made with local healthy ingredients. Decorated with reclaimed wood and vintage industrial furniture that can be quite uncomfortable. It is marred by infestation of laptop drones who have been allowed to more or less own prime table space. Roost needs to deal with these parasites as they ruin any cafe they get a hold of – making table space scarce and ruining the ambiance.
