Great Italian in Quincy. The pastas are great, the portions are huge, the atmosphere is homey and relaxed, cozy enough for a romantic evening out, the service is always friendly, and check out the desserts – you won’t be disappointed. If you’re too full you can always take one home.
Like Nana’s. Seriously. The first time I went here (before they got a little more elbow room) it felt like I was a kid at home back in Nana’s kitchen. The pizza – dough, sauce and cheeses – were just like my grandmother used to make. Well, she didn’t usually bother to grate the cheese… but that’s being overly picky. All of the pasta is fresh and the sauces are no-nonsense. The portions are enormous, but that just means leftovers or sharing. My only non-positive would be that the meatballs are gigantic. I like mine smaller than a golf ball and these are at least softball size. The meat and flavor is good though. The sausages, however, remind me of the ones I would stuff by Nana’s side. Now I’m getting hungry and nostalgic.
Like Italian?. This is the best Italian restaurant in the area. Forget the North End with the traffic and towing, Here’s the answer to some of the best Italian cooking around. Friendly and attentive staff. Beer and wine now available if you choose. The owner oversees the whole operation like he’s conducting a orchestra, making sure everything is okay and your satisfied. It’s worth the the trip, come hungry!
