The Best!!!!!. From Jimmy, the owner, to his brother Buddy and his son Jay and all of the overly friendly and courteous counterstaff, I simply say you are THE BEST. Let’s face it, in this highly competitive world nobody can stay in business for over forty years without doing everything right. Many sub and pizza shops have come and gone in Scituate over that period but Maria’s continues to attract crowds of people. The food has always been of the highest quality and prices have always been reasonable. Even during the winter tomato shortages, only the best were served. And they don’t waste space in their delicious sub rolls with lettuce. The are filled with large quantities of whichever filling you ordered.

Warning: if you ask for lettuce people will immediately know your not a local which may result in a sigh and perhaps an eye roll.

This weekend, I will be attending my 25th high school reunion, and I am certainly going to be stopping for a sub at Maria’s. They are fantastic; the toppings set this place apart from the many others I have tried…on both coasts!
Excellent. I have to disagree with AWEFUL- who should learn how to spell before posting a review. I have gone to Maria’s for 20+ years it is a nice family run business. I am sure if this customer approached the person at the counter and explained why she was asking for just turkey that the counter person would have been more than happy to accomodate her. The subs are excellent- the bread makes the sub. If you are a first timer, just beware- there is no lettuce at marias.. the pickles rock so get some extra pickles.
AWEFUL!. I will NEVER step foot in this sub shop again. My daughter has celiac disease in which she can not consume gluten (wheat, barley, oats and rye). We went into Maria’s and asked for a turkey sub with NO bread. They REFUSED to do it. I didn’t want a discount because of no bread, I wanted them to charge me the regular price and just give me the meat. They absolutely refused. My daughter is 6 years old, its hard enough to find items that are safe for her to eat. The customer service in Maria’s was completely HORRIBLE! They were yelling and screaming at me just because I asked for no bread. NEVER EVER Will I go anywhere NEAR this sub shop! HORRIBLE!
