I stumbled across this corner joint on my walk through Davis Square. It seemed pretty busy with an option window / patio concept, so we decided to stop in for lunch. The food was decent. I ordered an alfredo pasta and D got a slice of pizza. I mainly liked the area though. I loved just sitting and watching people walk by. It’s an awesome, casual space to just hang out. But I agree with many of the other reviews. The employees working there (this 1 lady in particular) was very unapproachable. We were even scared to ask her for water because she looked like she was going to yell at us at any given time! sincerelykn.blogspot.com
Bad Service, Good Time. Some of the people who work there are truly angry people, but if you can ignore that, this restaurant can fill some of your Davis Square needs. It’s large and extremely casual, great for having a few low-medium quality beers with friends. In the summertime it really shines, having huge open windows and lots of outdoor seating, plus several TVs showing the game (whether it be a ball game or a presidential debate). And if you are hungry, some of the food is pretty damn tasty, not on a foodie level, but on a greasy, cheesy one for sure. It is hands down the easiest place in Davis Square to have a couple casual drinks with friends. oversharielle.com

RE: Angry. Grumpy. Strange.. I’ve given this place 3 tries, and I will never go here again.I figure they are busy enough at times they must be doing something right. However I have not determined what keeps people coming back. I’ve come during a rush, and when it’s slow and nothing has been different. The people I’ve had serve me were different but acted the same. Their attitude was off putting and not very helpful. The food is nothing special. The beer and drink selection is average at best.In conclusion there are other places that do what Mike’s does better all over the Boston. They can keep their greasy food and they crappy attitude. I’ll spend my money elsewhere.
Fun but nothing special.
The food is ok, certainly nothing special. But sometime if you decide you just want mediocre pizza in an open-air mediocre restaurant, this place will do. Altho the place is kinda dirty, it is definitely the service that sucks. Apparently refilling a water is inconvenient, so don’t ask. They do, however, have Blue Moon, which is a plus, so drink that if you end up here.
