I was kind of disappointed by this place…people recommend it so highly online. The live music was good and the atmosphere was lively yet at the same time laid back and cozy. And yet…the food was somewhat bland, our server was less than attentive (although maybe she was just having a rough day), and the cocktails (but who really orders cocktails at a pub, right?) were lackluster. You do get a LOT of food for your money though…so if you’re looking for a simple/basic flavor profile, look no further.

Beers Outside, Maybe a Burger and Fries. I would only eat at The Burren because what I really want is to have a few beers at an outdoor patio. Some of the food isn’t bad.Burger: a good bar burger; they cooked it right when we told them rare to medium rare.Steak Fries: goodOnion Rings: really undercookedChicken Tenders: you know, whateverBlue cheese, honey mustard, buffalo and chiolptle aioli: all goodThey have creamy Bellhaven and Smithwicks and Guinness and Anchor Steam and Harpoon IPA and Long Trail IPA, for instance, a good beer list. oversharielle.com

Good food and music. I enjoy the food here, good beer on tap. But the best part is their live music – often a little Irish trio. Great atmosphere for a nice pub dinner.

Best Value. If only Britian made their own pub food this good. Flat out the best deal you’ll get in Davis Sqare (except for Mickey D’s). Cheap food and cheap pints. I recommend the fish and chips. I didn’t expect much for the price. I was astounded by how much flavor it puts out. The beer batter wasn’t too soggy or greasy. Had a nice crisp taste. A light brew makes a great companion, Sam Summer would suffice.
