If you are a gourmet…. I had the distinct pleasure of dining with Peter at one of his Chef’s Table events. I’ve always wanted to go to French Laundry, or El Bulli in Spain, to be wowed by the gorgeous presentation of food and the creative combination of flavors, colors, and ingredients. I feel like I found this hidden gem, right here in Somerville! For a fraction of the price, you can experience a fine dining experience, each course expertly plated and visually exquisite…paired with wines chosen by an incredibly knowledgeable sommelier. Not only were the wine choices perfect, but they were also unusual, and he had GREAT stories about the vineyard owners too. I would have been happy just to look at the plates as they came out…there would be thin line of dehydrated black olive, or five small dots from smaller to larger of a flavored oil. All of them a work of art! Then the flavors! Every bite was moan worthy. Each dish was perfectly proportioned, and using only items that were exceptionally fresh, in season, and locally purchased. If you ever wanted to wow VIP’s at a catered corporate event, this would knock even the most fussiest foodie’s socks off. I can’t wait to try another event, and to get him to do a celebration at my home later this year!
Unforgettable Dining Experience. An evening with the creations of Chef Peter Ungar can’t be compared to a mere restaurant experience. You will be treated with the hospitality of Peter and his fine family in their own home. You will see and smell your wonderful food as it is prepared, while enjoying the company of newfound acqaintances. Peter’s sommelier will introduce you to some delicious wine selections, complete with fascinating stories of their origin. I don’t believe there is a better dining experience for the price anywhere else in the Boston area.
Unique, better and much more interesting. I had the pleasure to indulge in the Dining Alternative’s creations several times. Every time I was blown away. I hired Chef Pete once to cater a romantic gourmet picnic for fiancee (now my wife). She was blow away and still mentions the food and event on many occasions.Without any hesitation I give my recommendation and urge you to give it a try. The various offerings of the Dining Alternative beat your regular night our with dinner any day. It is different, it is interesting and it is better.
An experience to remember!. Peter Ungar merges his culinary talent with his ability to create a sophisticated atmosphere to give his guests a truly unique dining experience. No matter what Peter cooks for you, you will not be disappointed!
Love fine dining?. If you do, Chef Peter Ungar should be your next dining experience. I’ve never had a chef provide a catered experience and frankly didn’t know what to expect. I was referred by a past customer who’s taste I trusted and it’s the best move I ever made. Peter catered a dinner for 12 people including myself. Per my friend’s suggestion, I just gave him some of the types of foods we enjoy and let him run with it. I’ve eaten at most of the nicer places in Boston and this easily is right up there with the very best. It’s more than the incredible food for me. It was about the personal attention, great service, and even a personal sommelier. Four of our guests have been in touch with Peter for their own events from that night and most of his clients are repeat customers from what I understand, so I’d imagine he’s a pretty busy guy, but call him, you won’t regret it. Thanks again Peter!
A Fantastic Alternative!. If you want to treat your senses to a truly unique and exquisite experience, then the Dining Alternative is for you. Chef Peter Ungar creates unbelievable flavors, like the Thai scented milk poached halibut that is just amazing.
Amazing Chef’s Table. I attended the Chef’s Table event they do and it was beyond amazing. I was expecting it to be good, but it really exceeded any expectations I had. All the guests would be talking, and when the next course would arrive, there wouldn’t be a sound, as everyone ate their dish in amazement. It was really that good. I’m not sure how I’m going to go out to other restaurants anymore. There were flavor combinations that I would have never dreamt of – and they were surprisingly good. Definitely worth it. It’s expensive, but worth every penny if your ready for that special occasion. I can’t wait to do it again, that’s for sure!
