Dimly the worst chowder ever made. It was saltier than anything I’ve vet had, an I like things saltier than most…. After having the chowder I chose not to let them take a stab at anything else

If I Lived Here, I’d be Full Right Now. As the Boston Bruins were mere hours away from winning that Stanley guys’ athletic supporter, I too was claiming a victory of my own. I was knocking yet another place off my wish list. Having seen this pub on TV several times, something about the comfort food they showed made my mouth water. The dimly lit lounge and restaurant was alive with the energy of the patrons. The servers were friendly, expedient and enthusiastic. Having promised my dining companion that she’d be home before the kick-off, the first pitch, the coin toss or whatever those hockey dudes call it, we ordered a bunch of food fast. At first the wings looked like ordinary buffalo fare. Hey, I said it was dark. The first taste though proved how wrong I was. They were flavorful, juicy and with a sweet tangy fusion thing going on, they were just shy of crispy. The house made sweet potato chips got our attention. They were crispy, flavorful and naturally sweet. The scratch made dipping sauce just might have been the best sauce either one of us has ever had anywhere, she even took some home. The mac&cheese was about the creamiest I’ve had in a long time, the shells were not mushy at all and though I would have appreciated a little more sharpness, as this place is not billed as a family restaurant; you could definitely taste the cheese. I would order that again without a doubt. One taste of the corn bread and you knew it was not made from a mix-in-a-box. It was a bit grainy but in a good way with real corn and plenty of flavor. Though slightly on the dry side, the mountain of butter on top more than made up for it. My bacon double cheese arrived along with the fries, rings and the veggie burger my dinner date ordered. The steak fries were crispy with a tender inside and I did my best not to overdo it in favor of everything else that was on the table. The shoe string rings were well seasoned, crispy and lightly battered allowing areas of full frontal onion nudity. Even though my dining chum wasn’t the usual power chower type I would normally eat with, we did our best to do some damage to that heaping portion. The thin, Soda-Fountain style burger though light on char was a pure delight with juicy, flavorful, meat perfectly melted cheese and two crispy pieces of out-of-this-world bacon. The buttery bun was soft and held up well as I manhandled it the whole way through. The accompanying slices of rome tomatoes, romain lettuce and red onions were fresh and I certainly finished my plate. Her veggie burger, according to her was ok but just that, ok. Guess it was a bit grainy but she also said that it was rare to find a place that made them well anyway. Over all I had a great time and I’m glad my partner overcame her traffic trauma and accompanied me. I guess my only disappointment was that Trina herself was off that night. I had seen her on TV and she was rocking some awesome cleavage. Well, I still want to taste their Chicken and waffles
