My partner and I stay in Springfield three times a year for the big Brimfield antique show. We have been trying different restaurants there over the years. Last night we were very pleasantly surprised when we tried the Typical Sicilian Restaurant. The service, the ambiance, and oh my, the food! Everything was just right. The fresh Maryland fried oysters in cream sauce were to die for. The salads were huge and fresh. Servings were more than adequate, and I noted that almost every diner was leaving with a take-home box, including us. And moderately priced to boot. This will definitely be a regular stop on our future trips.
I just love this family owned, local spot. The food is full of flavor and their specials are always changing and evolving (must try their staple of penne typical with the special sauce.. Specify breaded chicken for an added bonus, it will not disappoint!) Only downfall is the small space that can feel claustrophobic but if you appreciate good Italian cuisine, this place is a must!
This restaurant was a hidden gem. Sauce was delish. Penne a la vodka was really good – generous amount of shrimp and lump crab. Chicken Milianese was really great too. It came with homemade potato chips. Highly recommend this if you are in the mood for authentic Italian.
Food has always been great and so has the service. If u go with out a reservation be prepared to wait for awhile and not much of a waiting area.
Excellent food. A new favorite for sure. I can’t believe I waited so long to try it. Really nice atmosphere and good service. Not your typical ‘Italian’ restaurant. A real culinary experience.
A culinary surprise in Springfield! Veal Marsala, Grilled tenderloin, Shrimp Scampi,chicken Pizzaiola were ALL excellante!!! A+++ Service was prompt, attentive and casual. Bonus points to our waitress Julie for the personally delivered cheese tidbit to our dog!
