There are two dining rooms. Upstairs large room and downstairs a cute tavern with the same menu. We started off upstairs and waited forever so we walked out. We were chased down the hall and they seated us downstairs. We had Kristen who was fantastic. The food was good and the pace was casual. I would return downstairs again.

Best in house bakery around, and Indian Pudding. There are so many good things to enjoy at The Publick House. If you are in need of breakfast, they have that, including both Saturday and Sunday buffets- full of delicious stuff. Lunch is a good choice here- salads, soups, sandwiches. I really like their wedge salad because it is not the usual wedge with bleu cheese and bacon; this one has thousand island or Russian dressing, burgers are generous and well priced. You can have a lovely dinner, the wine cellar is expansive.I would not recommend the seafood dishes here, they all seem to have been previously frozen and therefore better ordered a little closer to the shore, but the poultry and beef dishes are all very well done.Every meal starts with a basket of assorted house made breads- come for this if nothing else! Great on site bakery- you can buy plenty of goodies to take home. Indian pudding is on the dessert menu, not too many places make this simple treat anymore, cornmeal pudding flavored with molasses- yum.Best thing about Publick House is the monthly fund raising dinner- $13 for all you can eat- raises money for various local causes. What a fine and fun way to give back consistently to the community.

Tops!. They have not served a bad meal in over 200 years. You can throw a dart at the menu and not go wrong. Warm, comforting, delicious and worth every dollar. One of my favorites.
