Kindness doesn’t rule here!!!. Quite a few years ago when the restaurant was in Malden, the owner/manager refused to seat our party because of my mother’s wheel chair, which she said would take up too much room. It’s still hard to believe that this woman, despite our explaining how important this night was to my mother, refused to budge. My mother died a week later. Needless to say, none of our friends patronize Artichokes, we have all chosen kindness over good food

Choke!. Had the amazing mussels in red tomato broth appetizer. While it was delicious, there were three un-opened shells in my dish (can you say food poisoning). I brought it to the attention of my waitress who seemed oblivious, she did nothing. Didn’t even take the dish away. So the chef needs a lesson in serving seafood and the waitress, well, she is clueless. Too bad, nice atmosphere, generous drinks.

Bartenders unattentive. The atmosphere was really nice, and the food was good, but the bartenders seem too focused on a few ‘regulars’ and we had to literally get our own salt/pepper. I agree with the other reviewers that the service is not good, and it’s too bad because the atmosphere is so nice. I’ll give it another try, since this was my first time.

Artichokes, Wakefield, MA. Artichokes consistently serves great food with wonderful flavor. The new home is classy and warm. All the pastas are terrific. I especially like the cavatappi with fusilli.I recently went and had a terrific veal with mushroom ravioli. Delicious! We go frequently with our family members and always leave with enough food for a meal the next day.Everyone enjoys our visits.

Great Boston Restaurant Outside of Boston!. I was very impressed with this restaurant. Food is great, decor is beautiful and service is friendly and attentive. Similar to other reviews, the service is not has fast an Italian chain type restaurant but all the meals are prepared fresh and this is not the type of restaurant you want to go to for a quick meal anyway. This is a great date night type restaurant. Enjoy the warm spinach salad to start and the homemade fusilli in pink sauce is the best I have ever had!! I have not had a chance to return and sit in the bar area (which was packed the night we went), but it looks like a great place to have a drink and dinner. Overall this is a great restaurant outside of Boston and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable night out!

LOVED IT!. My husband and I went there for Valentines day and we loved it. The Hostess was extremely accomodating we did have to wait 1 hour and 10 min but well worth it! She introduced herself to us and welcomed us. She also kept checking in on us during the wait to let us know when our table was coming. We ordered the Tom and Mozzeralla salad it was out of this world!! You also go your own plate of oil to dunk your bread in. So no worries about double dipping!! We both got the Veal Marsala with homemade Fussili Pasta another hit out of the park!!! I had a Cosmopolitan for a drink it was extremely good. We so enjoyed ourselves. We will definately go back. A BIG 2 thumbs up!! Oh and our waitress was so nice and quick!!!!!

Fabulous. This was my first time having dinner here with family members. It was a cold Tuesday night and the ambiance of the place and the personality and service of the waiter warmed us right away. I would say it is the best meal I have had in a long time. The appetizers were delicious ( lobster ravioli, and eggplant ravioli) the cream sauces I am still salivating over. The tenderloin special with shrimp, scallops, mushrooms and linquine were cooked to perfection and out of this world. I can’t wait to finish it off today. ( quantities are large)Our timing was perfect, 6 pm on a Tuesday night, no wait, great table and the place did fill up. I think Wakefield is lucky to have such a high quality restaurant.
