Not Even Decent. Went to PitStop BBQ because it was highly rated online. When I got to the restaurant I was pretty excited because it had that smokey smell. At first I was turned off because the owner was extremely cocky and was showing his food off like it was something special–I couldn’t tell if this was good or bad. He also said my order would take 15 minutes–it took about 45 minutes.Ordered a half rack of pork ribs and a pulled pork dinner. Ribs were tough and dry, bbq pork was watery and tasteless. He obviously compensates with his BBQ sauce and butter. The grilled corn was way overcooked, the cornbread and mashed potatoes were good, but extremely buttery. You can get better ribs at the grocery store. I suggest going elsewhere.
Great Food. Went to PitStop for a little BBQ and found a gem. The owner/chef Rosti was an extremely pleasant person, made you feel at home. He is also accommodating with any food allergies. The bbq chicken was excellent and the meat on the ribs dripped from the bones. Mom was pleased.
Delicious food. I went with my family to Pit Stop for breakfast as they now offer it on the weekends. Even though they are very small, the food was delicious (homemade Ukranian style potato latkes/pancakes, homemade sausage, thick-cut bacon, omelettes, etc.). It is a very good value with fresh food, personable efficient service, and we will be returning. The frittata ordered by the couple at the next table looked scrumptious as well. Now I need to go and try the BBQ…

Sooooo damn good!27 May, 2012One more thing…. Best cheesebburger I’ve had in a long time, no condiments needed.27 May, 2012Best BBQ that I’ve had in a long time. No need to go into the city to get good BBQ,you can get it in Wakefield. Everything homemade from scratch from the BBQ sauce, mashed potatoes, chicken gravy, mac & cheese etc. Prices are good and large portions.
Best BBW in the North Shore!. So we went to the place because it was highly recommended by my fiance’s co-worker. And it didn’t disappoint. We got pickup from there right as they were about to close. The owner was nice enough to stay open late to accommodate us. There were 5 of us in the group and each of us got a different item. We all shared each other’s food so I can tell you that ALL of the items were REALLY good! We ordered the pulled pork sandwich, grilled chicken, bbq chicken, pork ribs and chicken kebab. If you like chicken, then try the chicken kebab or the grilled chicken. The ribs were AMAZING. The pulled pork was good too! All the items were freshly made on the grill. If you are wondering what side to order, ask about their vegetable of the day – when were were there, it was spinach in garlic sauce and it was exquisite! When you go there, make sure to converse with the owner. He is quite the character and has interesting stories to tell. This is by far the best BBQ I have had in the north shore.
Best BBQ in the area. The change in ownership is the best thing that happened to this place. I have been there a few times recently, and everything I have tried has been great. I would definitely recommend the new pork tips without any BBQ sauce, they were delicious and the BBQ sauce I did have went to waste. You also cannot go wrong with the corn bread and chips with seasoning. I look forward to returning and trying the rest of the new menu.
