Watertown a suburb of Boston is squeezwd betwee Harvard,MIT on one side and Brandise on the other,with the Charles river forming its boundry from Boston. A quiet town but has some really great eateries. Molana a family run Persian restaurant is one such place. Situated just off Main Street and very close to the Library this place exudes Oriental charm from the enterance itself. Tastefully decorated with Persian artifacts,carpets and painted lantern hanging lights. The service is polite and efficient and the tables nicely spaced and well setup.Having had a surfeit of burgers,clam chowder and doughnuts we looked forward to some nice oriental flavours especially Kebabs !! Were not disappointed and just loved the food. It had subtle flavours especially saffron and pepper and cardamom–not hot spicy like north indian food.. The Kebab e barg was juicy and soft and nicely done,while the Baghali Polo with Lamb was a great dish served with saffron rice(which was long grained and excellent aroma). The Lamb shank was tender and juicy .The Fresh Salmon Kebab was unique and a great discovery as never had Salmon kebab oriental style. The Salmon blended beautifully with the spices and was really tasty and Yuuummmmy !. Chicken Soltani was very much like the North Indian Reshmi and tikka kebabs but with a subtler taste and flavor. The Persian Ice Cream was refreshing with a flavor you wont get at Ben and Jerrys,or Baskin Robbins !!! Try it for the experience. Overall a great and fulfilling meal in a clean quiet relaxed atmosphere. The only thing missing were the belly dancers !!! Stop by when in that area and Enjoy.

I recently took my daughter to Molana Restaurant for her Birthday for dinner. she ordered the Beef Barg for Entree she loved it but could not finish because of large portion of rice. I ordered the chicken Barg, Chicken was very render and juicy. Because of her birthday the desert was on the house, Persian ice cream, taste was out this world really loved very much. Recommend this restaurant
