Stopped in one of our favorite places for a quick bite before the Boston Bruins game. Service was great. Place was packed. Order the chicken pot pie and wife ordered the hamburger. Although the burger was tasty, it wasnt medium rare like we wanted. The chicken pot pie was very good with plenty of chicken and vegetables. Well definitely be back.
Kitchen Closed???. I went here about 7:30 on a Wednesday night. THe kitchen was closing, but they were finishing up some dishes and were going to let me order. I sat at the bar and waitress didn’t come over, not even to see if I wanted a drink. I left. This is really a bar. If the kitchen is closing at this time, beer, not food, is the driver. That is fine for them, but I can go elsewhere.THere are without exagerration a dozen pub type places within a couple blocks. Most of these cater to the pre and post game crowd, as the Boston Garden is 2 blocks away. I have a hard time believing that one is much better than other. I ended up goiing to Porters next door, where I had perfectly acceptable fish and chips. I dont like to eat at places where the ktchen is closuing.

Wonderful Experience. An Irish pub in Boston and very true to its culture. McGann’s is located just a block from the Boston Garden and offers a small menu of homemade food. The entire decor covering the walls were from Irish festivals. The stools were surprisingly comfortable and the waitress was very prompt and friendly. One thing that stood out was their waffle fries that come with a curry gravy. It was the bottom of the stew pot but very good. The half pound hamburgers were cooked to perfection and you can pretty much top it off with whatever is in the back. Because of its location close the Garden, parking is almost non existing but it is perfect for a quick bite before a game.
Great beer selection and very reasonably priced pub food. Cozy atmosphere and friendly attentive wait staff. Go here before your event at the Garden and leave Fours to the tourists.
