Have been to masona grill numerous times and have always loved our meals and the atmosphere. Went recently and for the first time ever someone had to return dish. Unfortunately the chef / owner was not accepting and sarcastic with us. Maybe he was having a bad day. Not sure. Response so disappointing not sure we’ll return.

Went on superbowl sunday,when every other place we tried was closed.as we were the only 2 patrons and had excellent service.Our waiter,sorry didn’t get name but lives in Salem,was a wonderful host,took the time to have wonderful conversation with us.I believe the owner sat at a counter and never greeted us,my partner expounded on the crispy eggplant,so i ordered it too.was good but would say a little lighter on rhe spinach.

It’s a small and very personal place, a fine restaurant with a casual atmosphere, right across the street from the West Roxbury commuter rail stop.The food is always excellent. This is one of my favorite places to go for special occasions.
