Today was my third visit to the restaurant. My first visit was almost a year ago and was great! I loved the food and everything was good. The service was fast, friendly and the food quality and taste was great. Four months ago, I came with my elderly Mother who wanted to order non-sushi from the lunch menu and I wanted sushi. The restaurant said we can’t be trusted as we might share sushi. I said she doesn’t like sushi. She said you have to order from the same menu and the same type of food. I said sorry, I will go somewhere else! I went to Nijiya in Medford, MA on RT60. They were so good and we can order off of different menus. The service was faster at Nijiya too!!!!Returning today for the first time in 4 months, I gave it another shot and spoke to them about the policy. They said they dont care if they lose customers. If one person at the bar orders all you can eat sushi, the entire bar must order all you can eat sushi. The same for any table in the restaurant or any group. The sushi was good, the service was a bit slow, but not bad. The folks werent very friendly, but not terrible. There was on other person in the restaurant at 5:30pm. I think one of the most important thing a restaurant can do is offer great customer service because after that everything else will fall inline. This policy will eventually lead to failure of the restaurant or change in policy. The question is which will happen first.
Food was quite good, unfortunately our waitress was *awful.* This was one of the only times in my life I didn’t leave at least a 20% tip. I’d go again, just not on a Saturday night!
