I along with 2 of my other friends visited this place just out of sheer curiosity. The reviews weren’t very promising, but we decided to give this place a shot anyway. The staff member who greeted us was really polite and courteous (so far so good). We ordered for a starters platter (which consisted of like 7-8 types of dishes, consisting of fried potatoes ,chicken and fish), which turned out to be pretty decent. We then ordered for a pasta dish with marinara sauce, which was an utter disappointment. This was the worst pasta I’ve ever had, it was so bland that I had almost emptied the pepper shaker. Overall, Cost wise its affordable, if not extremely cheap. Skippable
Ignore the old reviews.. We decided to ignore the 2 year old poor reviews of this restaurant and give it a try. We’re glad we did, because the food is excellent! Our steaks were very tender and cooked perfectly. We will definitely visit Grille 57 again.
Excellent food, and a very helpful, cooperative staff. Due to my own dietary restrictions, I can rarely have the steaks here any more, but I find that there are plenty of other options to keep me happy, and coming back for more. And again, with my dietary restrictions, they are always very accommodating – whether it’s modifying the ingredients of a dish, or making suggestions that will work for me. Some of my favorite dishes here are the Pollo Marida, Lamb Shish Kabob, Pasta Puttanesca (which I usually get with shrimp or scallops), and their French Onion Soup. And the specials are always creative and delicious.
Not a happy diner. I don’t normally write negative reviews. Any restaurant can have an off night. But this was hands down one of the worst meals I have ever had. I had some early misgivings when we walked into an empty restaurant, just a half-block away from the always overflowing Sole Proprietor, Boynton, and Sahara. The ambiance was laughable, just a bunch of tv’s. But as we had a restaurant.com gift certificate, we decided to give it a try. Absolutely everything we ordered was a disappointment. Fried mac & cheese was overcooked, and came to the table a crusty, unattractive dark brown color, obviously overdone. My shrimp avocado salad, supposedly served in an avocado shell, came drowned in a tasteless creamy dressing, apparently to hide the lack of avocado. Were they out of avocados? I should have been told. I’d have preferred to order something else. Our main courses, pasta and surf and turf, were bland, tough (steak), and undercooked (shrimp). Even the plain cheese pizza that we took home for the kids was burned and inedible. It went right into the trash. With a glass of wine and cola, the bill came to $80. A pricey dump. This place is unacceptable, especially on a street where you can get great food and ambiance just a few feet away.
