At one time I begrudgingly hailed this dump as one of the last bastions of semi-decent old school Chinese American. That style isn’tmy preference, but sometimes it’s a nice bit of nostalgia. And even though I prefer Nancy Chang, these guys USED TOdo a better job at what they’re TRYING to do than Nancy Chang. Now? They just don’t put any effort in whatsoever. On one recent visit, the hostess took a lengthy personal phonecall before even bringing me a menu. Place reeked of cigarette smoke. Server didn’t bring the soup (99% broth, 1% vegetables, 0% flavor) until the rest of the meal came. Didn’t bring duck sauce until I asked for it. Never came back with the check so I did the math myself and left the bills on the table. Ribs dry, slightly cold and an obvious, half-heartedreheat. Sadly, the biggest disappointment was the fried rice. They once had a version that still had impact; this time it was much less dense with pork and other nuggets, more pale of color and much more pale of flavor. pigtrip.net
