Retirement Party EventFabulous place to hold an event. Everything was set up exactly as I wanted. When my family showed up to help set up, they said that everything was already done! My stepson works at a bar in Boston and he was very impressed with how everything was run. My whole family was extremely pleased! I couldnt be happier with how everything was handled, from the initial communication to the end result. Tori did a lovely job with the chalkboard art! The food was delicious as well! Charcuterie to die for! I cant say enough about how wonderful the staff was! Always on top of things, boxing up leftover cupcakes, gathering our decorations and gifts and keeping them safe. We didnt have to worry about a thing. Despite the cold temps that night, everyone enjoyed themselves and really enjoyed the uniqueness of the venue! Hopefully it will stir up additional business for The Citizen and surrounding establishments. I know we will certainly be back. And I will look to the Citizen for future events as well. If you want a well run event in a very cool space, try The Citizen.

It began badly as it took our waitress 10 minutes to get to our table. The waitress seemed insulted when we told her we needed to be at a show in about 80 minutes. My entree was horrific, I took one bite, and spit out the rest (literally). Did the waitress and chef taint it, or did the chef accidentally mistake the olive oil for the cleaning fluid. The bathrooms were dirty. We’ve been here before, but the last few times things seemed to be changing, in a very bad way. We spoke with the manager, then left and walked around the corner to the Deadhorse Hill Restaurant, which was excellent. Do yourself a favor, and DO NOT GO TO The Citizens Wine Bar or The People’s Kitchen! Try the Dead Horse Hill, around the corner.

Cozy bar. Love this small, hip place. Food menu is small if you’re looking for entrees, but they have some good options for bread/cheese.

Great Place. Food, Service, Atmosphere…this place has it all. We ate at The People’s Kitchen (upstairs from the wine bar). $33 for appetizer, main and dessert? Sure! Don’t think twice, eat here and enjoy yourself.
