The Sole has been there forever and resting a bit on its laurels. Had lunch there and not a fan of bars, but that was the only place that we could get a booth. Waiters were great and very professional. The lobster bisque is ridiculously priced until it is served and you see how much lobster is in there. The clam chowder went back as tasted nothing like New England clam chowder and truthfully should be changed immediately. The lobster salad roll was good, the crab cakes were mainly filler and had a bad tasting sauce. The clam roll came out cold and had to go back. It came out hot the second time but the clams were small, tasteless and flavorless batter. Bottom line, nothing much better in Worcester if you want seafood, but many better restaurants!
The oysters that I ate raw were good. The crab cakes came out cold and were promptly taken back to kitchen. They returned hot and over cooked and deep fried. Could have gotten same thing out of freezer box from Walmart. Not what I paid $75 for plus tip.
I’ve been there a couple of times over the last year and each time I got a expensive seafood meal that somehow managed to be utterly devoid of taste. I cannot stress how much I would suggest going somewhere else. Try West Boylston Seafood, much better.
Was traveling and wanted good lobster. The hotel recommended this place. As soon as I walked in I thought it would be good. The place was packed for a Thursday. Ordered crab cake for an appetizer and it was great. Ordered the seafood sampler platter for dinner. It did not disappoint. The lobster, shrimp, and salmon were fantastic. The manager came by to see how the food was. Service was outstanding. I would recommend this place for a nice dinner- either business or personal. heydelhiblog.wordpress.com
Buzzing atmosphere in larger dining room. Terrific wait staff, knowledgable and confident. Visited on a busy Sat. night, service and kitchen without hitch.Menus confusing (due to buster month). Basic menu cumbersome and hard to read even with reading glasses.First Course: chowder, lighter than most, a great attribute given the portions of fish yet to come.. Salads- fresh greens with the best balsamic dressing I have ever had. Should be bottled and sold.Beef and Shrimp Surf and Turf: was downright elegant. Copious crabmeat in shrimp stuffing, steak was tender and complemented the shrimp.Crispy Parmesan Trout: two servings in one plate, excellent crispness and not at all oily to those concerned with darker fish. Colcannon Sword Fish: Large serving, well cooked with great seasoning and sides. Cheesecake: our only criticism. Not smooth, but inconsistent texture. Overall great experience. This was our second visit and won’t be our last.
Not good unless your looking for everything deep fried. Dissapointing lunch after reading reviews.
$6 is a Great deal in the bar.. Enjoyed the $6 deals in the bar last Thursday evening. The restaurant is very popular and packed and for good reason. So if you can’t snag a table for feasting from the regular menu in the dining room, consider the $6 deals menu during Happy Hour. The lobster sushi roll, the lobster roll and a a martini made for a nice dinner with friends. There were so many great choices I plan on going back when in town to try some more.
