Good Hungarian and Polish Food. I have eaten here on many trips to Ann Arbor. It is my favorite place in Ann Arbor. The goulash which is served over noodles is good and so is the chicken paprikas. It has the look and feel of a real Eastern European Cafe. The only drawback was I thought the deserts were good but the portion size was a little small for the price.
Old world served new. I love everything about this place except the dinner prices, but I’ll pay them because the food is excellent and the atmosphere is fun. If you haven’t experienced Eastern European cuisine this is a good place to start, plus they have an exquisite wine selection to compliment any meal. My personal favorite is the potato pancakes topped with loxs and caviar, but you cant go wrong with the goulash. I first discovered this place during the Ann Arbor art fair where, looking for respite i stumbled upon Amadeus to enjoy a cold dill cucumber soup on a hot day with a crisp glass of white wine… yea I know, the definition of poetry in motion.
Adorable little european bistro!. Every time I go to Amadeus, I feel like I am transported to Europe and am sitting in an adorable little european bistro. The atmosphere is lovely…the food is gorgeous…and the service is wonderful. It’s always a special treat to have dinner here. My favorites: the chicken paprykash, vienesse pork cutlet, and the polish plate! Oh, and the meat pierogi! Try the honey wine…it’s lovely, delicate, and works well with the spices and flavors of the dishes.

Stopped in for the first time for the $6.95 lunch specials. I ordered the goulash and salad. It was the perfect size for lunch and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is quaint like a little European cafe. I will definitely return. They have all the European and eastern european dishes that you can’t usually find and are absolutely spectacular. Definitely recommended.
Outstanding, will definitely return. Went to Amadeus for the first time tonight, two of us and my parents, for my birthday dinner, and am totally impressed. Feels like an authentic European cafe bistro, from the food to the decor. Food quality was outstanding, with everything having a homemade feel and taste. Pierogies were delicious, salad & soup were just the right sizes, and the chicken paprikash was outstanding. Desserts were decadent, and upon learning that today was my birthday, our delightful Russian server put my dessert on the house! A perfect experience, we were quite pleased. Would definitely return, and would highly recommend.
Lovely restaurant. This is a lovely restaurant in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. IT feels like you are in a small Viennese neighborhood restaurant — the food is varied Eastern European fare, and the desserts are scruptious.One caveat — you better not dine here if you want intimate private conversation – the tables are all crammed in so close to each other you hear everything at every table near you. So it really IS like a European restaurant!
