I wish I could say that I liked the ice cream…but I never had the chance. Was in with my family to tour U of M. Took a brisk walk Sat evening to get ice cream- arrived at Ben & Jerry’s at 11:01 p.m. The store was full, people were still on line and eating. As I opened the door a man leapt up and said they were closed. Yes- the sign said they closed at 11:00 p.m. We plead our case, there were people in line! I checked my iPhone: 11:01 p.m., We were 1 minute late…he was unmoved & non- negotiable- he dead bolted the door and turned his back. My kids were disappointed- great way for the owner to make a lasting impression- one would think they would want the extra business rather than turn away a few more customers. We walked across the street to the CVS. Left the 2/$7.00 Ben & Jerry’s in the CVS freezer and grabbed some premium Haagendazs…I will never return to Ben & J. on State Street in Ann Arbor.
