Food and service. My girlfriend and I dined at the Chop House on Valentine’s day. I was very disappointed with the Australian lamb chops. They appeared to be overcooked. I ordered them medium rare. The Morrocan shrimp were over cooked as well. Our waitress seemed to be focused on my girlfriend. Every time she came to our table she talked directly to her. It was like I didn’t even exist. I spent over $160.00 on our meal and felt like I was dinning at a big chain eatery. Very, very disappointed. Gary Williams Perrysburg, Oh

Birthday dinner with my husband at the Chop House in Ann Arbor. We went to the Chop House for my husbands birthday and it was our first time visiting this restaurant. We will definitely be back there for nice dinners. Our food was great and our server, Lori, couldn’t have been better. She made us feel so welcome and made wonderful suggestions for food. Several management people stopped over to make sure that we were having a pleasant evening and did it in such a manner that it seemed like they really cared. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and our dinner.

I liked it but…. We took advantage of the birthday special, which made it a great deal (you have to ask for it). The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. I was surprised at the proximity of all the tables. They were crowded and the people next to us were almost right on top of us. Not ideal for an intimate or business dinner where privacy may be desirable. I also found the wine prices outrageous. To have almost no choice below $50 and charging at least $12 for any glass of wine was a little over the top. I would return on a birthday.

Seriously not worth it. I enjoy a good restaurant and money is not an issue. I wanted to take my daughter out for a great meal while I was in town and figured at these prices it had to be top notch. Huge disappointment. Grilled radicchio salad was very good, Caesar salad was a disappointment. I ordered the French onion soup, a great steak house should have an exceptional French onion, right? It was horrible. It tasted like it had a tomato base (waiter said no) and it was thick like an overcooked stew. They were most apologetic as I sent it back and replaced it with the Lobster bisque. It was a little better but I would never order it again, maybe a 4 on a 10 scale. My daughter had the Baseball steak which was so tough and sinewy that she even had trouble cutting it with a sharp steak knife. I’m sorry but at $44.00 it should have been exceptional. She only ate half and for a starving college student that should tell you a lot. It was also a bit gamey so beware unless you enjoy a well aged steak. The positives, exceptional bread, which was the only thing I can say stood out, and the decor is lovely and elegant. Such a shame, someone really ought to police that kitchen.

WAY OVERPRICED!!!. The service was decent but I felt ripped off. I would expect an amazing steak for the prices they charge. I’ve had better steak at chain resturants. Others in our party had their order wrong but the resturant did give free dessert to make up for it.

I dined here with a large group the other night. Fantastic. Wonderful service all around. Fantastic wine, beer, and liquor selection and mixed wonderfully. I had the Del Monico Wagyu cut. It was delicious TONS of flavor. I was a huge fan of the sides. Potatoes all ways, fresh crunchy veggies and lush mac and cheese. The lobster bisque was delicious! The cold seafood apps were unbelievable! The crabcrakes were luscious! The cheesecake was fantastic for dessert as well! Very, very impressed.
