Just left El Harissa. What an outstanding meal we had! They made us a platter that offered a small amount of each of their dips and spreads and served it with warm pita bread. It was all really good but the Zaalouk, a Moroccan eggplant dip, and the Harissa were our favorites. We had spice roasted mushrooms and cauliflower, which were great-especially the mushrooms! For our proteins, we choose Mergues Meatballs that are made of lamb and beef with a nice spice added to them, and Chicken Chermoula that had a really tasty sauce of herbs, lemon and garlic, both served over couscous and Berber Terrine du Poulet, which is a terrine made of ground chicken and potatoes and served with a coconut curry sauce. Everything we had was fresh and tasty. The only thing better than the food was the excellent service we received! We loved the variety and the great prices. We followed up dinner with two Turkish coffees, not only was it spiced with cardamom, but it had the added treat of rose water…so good! We ended our meal with some delicious gelato. Needless to say, we were stuffed to the gills with a huge variety of delicious and healthy foods! Oh, and all of that was less than $45!We will be back!
One of our family’s favorite lunch spots. The food is always fresh and flavorful. The cafe itself is cozy, clean, and welcoming. On a recent visit, the meatballs were a big hit with my husband and children. I enjoy their egg tagine as well as their chicken with cous cous.
Great homemade family creations made with fresh ingredients. Whipped feta, meatballs, and fantastic gelato flavors are personal favorites. Friendly owners Sue and Khaled.
