Frank’s is one of the staple diners in Ann Arbors that caters to students and locals alike. It specializes in breakfast and lunch, the diner closing early before dinner. It’s a cash only spot, and some weekend mornings there’s a line for a seat. It’s a bit of a greasy spoon that prides itself in getting you fed and on your way. We stopped in one morning to grab breakfast. I ordered the vegetarian omelette with rye toast and he got the French toast. It was more than enough food for both of us, and it was relatively cheap compared to the rest of the city. The coffee was okay, and there were plenty of refills. The omelette was moist with cheese, the vegetables cooked well. The French toast was actually the best part of the meal. It was well seasoned in cinnamon and dipped just enough before being fried. This is a good place to get American classics without wanting to play a high price for them.

Quintessential greasy spoon that’s popular with Michigan students and Ann Arborites alike. Good for a relatively inexpensive breakfast or lunch. Staff are prompt and generally courteous. Don’t expect anything extraordinary and you’ll be satisfied.
