Mezes is a locally owned restaurant that is known for their hospitality and food made to order. I came in for lunch one day and had a half spanakopita and half Greek salad, which was served with house bread. The salad was okay, though I wouldve enjoyed more dressing and toppings. The spanakopita was good, though Im sure it wouldve been more buttery had I gotten it as soon as it was baked. The bread was fantastic, and it was great to dip in the delicious tzatziki sauce given to me. The owner, who was from Cyprus, took the time to ask me about my meal, check on me to see if I needed anything, and tell me about him Cyprus. He was extremely sweet and hospitable, even making me an excellent cup of traditional coffee. I was impressed by the service, which Ive yet to find an equivalent in the city.
