Solid Indian food. I ordered medium and still broke a sweat. Similar taste to what you get in Delhi. The lamb was good and they import good Indian beer. Definitely worth the visit if you’re in Ann Arbor for India food!
We ordered the Murgh Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Veggie Samosa, and Garlic Naan. In general, the food and overall ambiance was good…and I would go back to give them another chance. However, the food at Madras Masala a few blocks away is much better – although the ambiance at Madras is not as nice. With that said, we waited almost an hour for our food, our waiter (although nice) checked on us once throughout our meal, and they got our order wrong.

Still good, but not as much as before. Shalimar used to be absolutely incredible. Then, it underwent some menu changes a couple of years ago. It’s still pretty good, but not like it used to be. The samosas are really good, but I miss the old fish curry.
My boyfriend and I have never had Indian food before and we loved everything about this place! The service was great, our waiter was very friendly and helpful explaining the different foods to us and even picked out our dishes based off what we had told him about our taste in foods 🙂 He started us off with vegetable pakoras very tasty with the sauces! My boyfriend got the seafood korma and I got chicken makhani, were hooked now! And can’t find a Indian restaurant around home that compares! Definitely recommended and we’ll be back the next time were in Ann Arbor!
Lamb Kashmir dinner. I went to this restaurant for dinner with friends. I ordered Lamb Kashmir. When the dish was served, I received 3 pieces rack of lamb chops. One of the three pieces had meat on it, the other two were just bones, but no meat. I was very disappointed. I kept it to myself, since I had friends with me. But it bothered me enough to make sure I had to make a comment about it. I hope this was an oversight, but at those prices, I expected at least 3 decent chops of lamb!!
Wife and I Love It. The wife won’t stray from her chicken curry, but I’ve tried several items from the menu and enjoyed them all. Loved the korma and vindaloo, and naan is good. Sitting in front by the windows when downtown is busy helps make for great atmosphere.
