Excellent lunch spot. Since I started working downtown a little over a year ago, TK WU has been one of my regular staples. Far more reasonably priced than many other offerings in the area, the portions are generous and food is delicious. I tend to mainly get take out and have found staff to always be friendly. When eating in I find service a touch on the slow side but equally friendly, and made up for by how fast the food comes out. I’m not sure what to make of one of the other reviews that attacks the quality of their chicken, as I’ve eaten here at least 50 times and always got normal, excellent, chicken.
The chicken they use has a very strange consistency. We thought it was tofu, but the server told us that’s what the chicken is like. So, it’s some kind of strange processed chicken they use to save money. Probably has a lot of corn filler in it.
Don’t Come Here After 9 pm. I like the food at TK Wu. It’s significantly above average for a Chinese restaurant in this area, and the menu offers some things available only at restaurants approaching authenticity. But my ultimate verdict is negative because the service can be aggressively hostile. I’ve come here twice after 9 pm, on nights when the restaurant closed at 10. Both times I was greeted like an intruder and rushed through my meal. The staff insisted on taking an order before we were ready, I was given my check a minute after the food arrived, and I was instructed — not asked — to pay and sign the receipt immediately. Of course, as soon as the food came, we were ignored. We had to go up to the front and ask for a refill of water, which was given only reluctantly and unhappily. On the second of these visits, my son and I arrived at 9:25 and we were out the door by 9:45. If TK Wu’s doesn’t want to serve customers after 9 pm, it should change the sign and lock the door. I will never dine in here again, and I’m not sure I would even get take out.
This is definitely the best Chinese food in the area! The restaurant is clean and bright and the wait staff is very friendly. I come here so often one of the waiters knows me and my order. You get a large amount of food for the price, especially if you do the lunch special which includes a main dish, soup, and egg roll for just $6.50. The meat is always high quality and the fried rice is delicious. The food is speedy but still high quality. Tk Wu shines in comparison to places like Panda Express or old rundown Chinese restaurants. I come here as often as I can and I highly recommend it!
Not very impressed. I had beef lunch special and it was some of the worst Chinese food I have had. The beef was very poor quality, the fried rice was horrible and the egg roll was disappointing as was the egg drop soup. On the bright side the service was good and the quantity of food for the price was impressive. If you are picky about food at all I wouldn’t recommend it, but hungry college students could do much worse.
Hard to Beat!. This is by far the best Chinese food I have ever had. I wish I still lived in A2 so that I could have it more!
