Probably one of the better Japanese places (still Korean owned and operated, however) in Ann Arbor. And it should be! Ann Arbor is a competitive place when it comes to Asian restaurants. Both I and my dining companion ordered a bento. We also ordered the gyoza, a spicy-tuna roll, and the spring rolls for appetizers. To me, a spicy tuna roll is a great gauge of a sushi restaurant. In this case it was delicious, spicy enough, and contained good quality fish-none of that horrible cat food you’ll get in a spicy tuna roll at most places around. Both the gyoza and rolls were homemade. Kudos! That is exceedingly rare to not serve factory-made frozen dumplings and rolls. The gyoza in particular were tasty little treats. Bentos were pretty standard, featuring an array of gut busting fried foods, like korroke, tempura, katsu, and shumai. There were some cold noodles as well, but they were unexciting. The food quality was high, the prices average to slightly more, and the service was prompt, accurate, and friendly. I will go again. Recommended.

Great food, friendly service!. There’s a lot of Asian food options in Ann Arbor, a lot of Japanese places too, but we keep coming back to Totoro. Great sushi at reasonable prices, excellent udon (very tasty broth, firm noodles), outstanding rolls and katsu. Service is friendly, helpful, and efficient. All in all, a great neighborhood place with quality food at a good value! Will definitely be back.

SO GOOD. I’ve been spending way too much money here because I can’t help it – it’s the best sushi I’ve had. The sauces, the texture – everything. And on weekends everything is 20% off, so you can get a good amount of food (sushi rolls, soup and salad, or anything else from the menu) for not too much money. Love it.

Udon done right. I have eaten Udon all over the country and this is one of the best places I have eaten it. I also really like their tea here. Basically anything I have ever had here has been delicious. Another spot I try to make it to whenever I am in Ann Arbor, even if it’s just to eat a couple pieces of sea urchin.

Best Sushi Ever.. I’ve had sushi in LA, Detroit, Chicago, Denver, and after tonight El Paso. I love Totoro and I will always remember how amazing their food was. I’m talking EVERYTHING. My best friends and I went there all the time while going to U of M. A few waitresses even knew us by name. Please go here, it’s amazing. The Yam Yam roll alone has turned many friends onto sushi and from there are willing to try many of their other awesome rolls. Ah… I miss Totoro!

Delish!. My favorite Japanese/Sushi restaurant in Ann Arbor! Clean, nice atmosphere & delicious choices at reasonable prices. I recommend getting a bento box!
