Yet another enjoyable evening. I work right across Grand River from Lu and Carls and occasionally will stop in after work for a relaxing draft of Guinness. Although the Guinness is no more (enjoyed a pint of Founders Oatmeal Stout – wonderful! – in its stead), there were three servers attending to our needs. Never have to wait for a refill ever. We enjoyed the most absolutely mouthwatering appetizer of rare steak bits; sauteed mushrooms, onions, and garlic; and garlic toast with a huge dip bowl of butter.
Bloody Mary Bar. Good brunch destination on sundays. Have four or five versions of eggs benedict to choose from. Also a good bloody mary bar and they are served in fish bowl sized glasses. The only thing they could add to it is bacon. They have EVERYTHING else covered.
Fish and chips-4th of july. Met my sister here for lunch. I drove 3 hours from west michigan, first time here. We both had the cod fish and chips. the meal was very good. However the waitress/service was lousy! Did not know her name except on the bill it said #126. The cole slaw and salads came out after the hot food was served. The plates were not taken off the table after we ate, I had to move them to another table. I would come back again if in the area as long as I had a different waitress. Due to the service I would not advise this place to a friend. If the management reviews these, I suggest that you properly train your wait staff. The one I had was not polite and clearly did not enjoy / care about doing her job.
Love the concept of build your own bloody mary.so far sooo good.haven’t. Eaten yet.will update. After lunch is served
Watch your cc bill wait staff will add a few tip dollars if your not paying attention.
