Fun place, had a great bowl here tonight. With tendon, tripe, and several types of beef. Lots of basil, bean sprouts, and different prior sauces to put on. The bowl had tons of broth, perhaps too much for the noodle volume. Not much atmosphere, but a fun place nonetheless.
All I can say is that I have been here twice and found the service to be fine and the food was excellent. Portions were generous and the waiter even steered me away from the large Pho saying the small was more than filling. He was correct. I look forward to my next visit here.
Worst dining experience of my life.. My girlfriend and I were just there for a quick/easy lunch break. Instead, what we received was slow and the worst service I’ve ever experienced from an establishment ever. First, as we are asked to seat ourselves, it takes a good 5 mimutes before a server even comes to greet us (if you can call a stare and dropped menus without audible confirmation that we even exist a greeting). Next comes an awkward moment of continued staring while we order. The server continues to remain silent through the whole transaction and also fails to write our simple order down, which leads to further problems. Our drinks come out 10 minutes after we ordered them and the food about 10-15 mins after that. My girlfriend ordered a vegetarian bowl and I a 4 ingredient pho bowl. What we received instead was a pho beef bowl for my girlfriend and a 1 ingredient beef bowl. Almost instantly, we mention the error as I check over my own dish. They take both back without apology and remake everything. Another 5 or so minutes pass and my girlfriend and I receive our new bowls in a staggered time period. My girlfriend’s order is correct, yet they seemed to have just added 1 to my original bowl.We call the lady who made it to simply verify what she heard from the server as the correct order. She heard the wrong order from the server after all and then continued on saying my girlfriend was looking at her strangely and said my girlfriend was looking at her like she was stupid, all the while in a raised tone. We decided we no longer wanted to eat there after the multiple issues. We got up and the lady started harassing us, telling us to get out and never come back. As we reached the door, they called us assholes and they didn’t want to see us ever again. With service like that, any food would leave a bad after taste.
A must try. I ordered the House Special Pho. The small bowl is more than enough. The fragerent, slightly sweet broth signaled it’s arrival. I tasted it on arrival and turned my attention to the generous portion of add ins that accompanied the soup. Sliced jalepeno, bean sprouts, holy basil and lime. After adding some of each and the juice of the lime wedge I dug in. The heat seeped out of the jalepeno slices into the broth and the lime juice added brighness. I broke out the chop sticks and went to work on the noodles and sprouts. Next I added some fish sauce. Pho is perhaps the most complex foods when made right. Sweet, savory, salty, crunchy with silky noodles. They make it right at Pho House. Enjoy. I can’t wait to go back to sample the Bahn Mi.
