  Locally Owned Pizza Place. My husband and I ordered Ypsi Chicks while in Ypsilanti house sitting. We went into the restaurant to order, and wait for pickup. The owners of the restaurant work in the store, and made our pizza. They were both pleasant to talk to, and were eager to promote their business. They had great deals on pizza, and told us about their wide delivery range, and how they cut and prepare all the toppings themselves, instead of getting it prepackaged. Our pizza didn’t take long to prepare, and as noted the toppings, including the pepperoni were plentiful, and hand sliced. The cheese toppings, and crust were really good, but the sauce was a bit on the sweet side. I read a review on Yelp! that someone else posted that essentially said the same thing. My cheese bread was awesome, although on the greasy side, it wasn’t greasy from the fake butter some pizza places use, it was greasy from cheese, real cheese, and not only white pizza cheese, but orange cheese too. It didn’t even need marinara or ranch dressing, because the cheese bread flavor was spot on. We brought our leftovers home to my dad, and he agreed with my assessment, and also thought that the cheese bread was excellent, and he is a critic when it comes to food. Ypsi Chicks is going to be my new goto pizza place when we are house sitting in Ypsilanti. It is a far drive from my friend’s house, but worth the trip. I like knowing that my money is going to local people, who will spend their money in the community instead of a corporation. I can’t wait to try other items on the menu.
