Worst Valentine’s Day meal ever!. My husband and I went to Nino’s last night for Valentine’s day. We waited 15 minutes before our server even came to our table, at which point we ordered an appetizer and a bottle of wine. 15 minutes later, the server brought out our appetizer, but no wine. We asked for our wine at this time, and 5 minutes later he brought it out, only to not know how to open the bottle. After it was finally opened, the wine must not have been sealed properly and it was AWFUL. Our meals came out about 15 minutes later, at which time we asked for our salads that never came out before our meals. We were told that they would be right out. 20 minutes later, after we ate very small portions of our dishes because they were not hot and very salty, our salads came out. We said that we’d just take the check. Mind you, between each of these interactions, our waiter was no where to be found and then brought out our bill still full priced as though everything was fine! When we spoke with the owner, she did take some of the money off our bill, but we still ended up paying $50 for a horrible meal that should have cost maybe $10. Needless to say, we will NOT be back.
Very Enjoyable. I find it hard to believe someone could have had such bad service. We were just there and they bent over backwards to please us. One of the meals was not as expected, so they offered to fix something else, we were not charged for one of our items because of this, and they were very apologetic.
Poor service, expensive, mediocre food. Nino’s was a BIG dissappointment and lacked any charm or elegance. A group of 10 recently visited Nino’s for a dinner party. We made the reservations in advance and were looking forward to a great italian meal. The service was TERRIBLE!! We waited over 3 hours for our food. The restaurant was being cleaned by the the time we were served. When the entrees were finally served they were delivered over a period of more than ten minutes. By the time that the last persons received their entrees, the first entrees were cold. In addition, it was sooooo late that some people had started eating – they were finished and their plates were being cleared before the last persons were served. Our complaints were dismissed by the owner. They were very unapologetic and dismissive and didn’t offer us any discount or a comlimentary item. No apologies. Nothing. …The customer service was terrible. The dishes were DIRTY. It was alarming that several wine glasses were dirty (they were replaced, but really – dirt on the glasses!). The decor is shabby and the music that is piped into the restaurant seems like a recording from a 1930s Italian movie. It was bad.The food was MEDIOCRE. First, several items on the menu were not available. The waitress was pushing other items that were available. Our experience is that Italian food is difficult to destroy, but the noodles were overcooked, the sauce tasted like it came from a can, the salad was sparse and wilted. Finally, the prices are high – especially given our terrible experience. Many items are extra – noodles on the side are extra, cheese on the side is extra. And, can you belive that the lights were turned off (at 10:00pm) as we were leaving the restaurant.
Best mussels around.
Not impressed!…. My spouse and I know authentic italian food, and Nino’s, in our opinion, just doesn’t measure up. The sauces are supposed to be homemade, but taste like they came out of a bottle or can, ala Prego or Ragu. It’s very bland and lacks seasoning, which makes everything taste the same. I ordered the eggplant parmesan and it came out looking like several pieces of dried shoe leather sitting in sauce. The entire menu is on the pricey side and I have to agree with a previous comment in regard to being nickel and dimed…the service can be frustratingly slow, ie., trying to flag down a waitress or waiting for the bill.
