Wait staff slow and uncaring. Appetizer was freezer burnt, food Luke warm, unappetizing, mojito was from old daqiuri mix, no flan on menu. As I should have read review prior to entering. Just because there’s a lot of cars in lot does not mean good food. Please be warned.
Todays trip. The service is the worst but the food is giod so you just keep going back. Today I waited 22 minutes for chips and salsa. The girl handed me the bag and said I gave you a pt of mild sauce and chips like she was doing me some favor. I simply replieled great you gave me what I paid for. The service will never get better so just suck it up, the food is great…don’t I repeat don’t dine in…..even the food isnt worth the terrible service.
Disgusting. Revolting slop. Ughhh if you want Frankenstein Mexican food than this is the place for you. I have no words to express how bad it all is. I found carrots in my enchilada? Cole slaw as a side? So so wrong…they need one of those TV chefs to come in and say, SHUT IT DOWN!
Increasing your entre price by 25%! This is not San Francisco. Just returned from Washington DC and their supposed expensive Restaraunts were more reasonable. Can’t wait until your customers get a 25% pay increase. After eating here for almost thirty years, we will never return and let our large Catholic community know about this insult!
We figured we’d try this place because it’s usually busy, but I have no idea why. The food was gross. It did not look good, and the taste was right there with dog food. Our waitress was was a joke. We both took one bite and were done. She never asked us anything about what we thought of the food….just brought us the bill. We paid it, then both went home sick to our stomachs. Not only was the food disgusting, the the table and walls were in desperate need of soap and water. The decor needs renovation, which I would totally overlook if the food was good. Morale of the story. Just because the place looks busy…doesn’t equal good food.
Have been coming since mid-70’s, MF has added other locations around Detroit since then. Like the hot chips and both salsas offered, the beef/cheese enchiladas and tostada. This place is always busy. It’s comfortable and has consistently good food and drinks, a good place to meet friends or take a family for a casual meal that won’t break the bank. Authentic? More so than some and way better than any national chain. Just took visitors from out of town for a quick lunch and all were happy and had good things to say. We will keep going!
Better Than Average.. .I’ve been eating at that restaurant for 35 years. Understand that this is not AUTHENTIC Mexican food. I give these people credit. They figured out the perfect hybrid to appeal to whitey and it worked. I think the botana and cheese enchiladas are great. The reason……………..mozzarella cheese is used instead of traditional Mexican cheese. The chips are good, drinks are cold, etc. And the coleslaw as well. You can’t go wrong here. This place is busy as Hell, has waitresses for 30+ years that are still there, etc. Recommended. What this place does isn’t all that common anymore.
