Great 1850’s Dining. Authentic experience. Long wood tables shared by more than one party, Many alcoholic beverage to choose from – I tried a simple apple cider. It had a nice flavor – strong apple wine taste. They served pickles, and two pickled boiled eggs (pink) as appetizers. We also had some complimentary fresh bread (dinner rolls, cornbread muffin and blueberry muffin) with butter and jam. The muffins were quite good. We had chicken fricasse with red potatoes and green beans and a beef stew/pie. The chicken fricasse had a great creamy sauce and the biscuits were soft and fresh. The vegetables were fresh and lightly, but nicely seasoned. The beef pot pie was also nice, a decent home cooked beef stew with a piece of pie crust placed on top. The desserts looked nice, (but we had no room to try them). The wait-staff dressed and stayed in character and had some extra conversations with us that might be expected if we were travelers visiting their establishiment 150 years ago. It was not a super special meal or experience, but it was good and I could recommend it. The straws are made of pasta and no salt shakers, they show you why the fork has a curve in the handle to dip it out of a bowl,, how cool. albeerpoe.blogspot.com
