Shatila Bakery is famous throughout Michigan for it’s variety of Middle Eastern sweets, and it’s by far my favorite place to go to in Dearborn. I particularly love the kunafeh, which is perfectly crisp on top, the ashta homemade and not sweetened, and the simple syrup just sweet enough to make the dish dessert. However, the maamoul are also good, the basbousa is decadent, and the baklava is good. Though there’s usually a line, it’s definitely worth the wait.
