One of Detroit’s greatest hangouts. If you love mussels done the Belgian way, there is no better place in America. As far as beer, its too has the greatest Belgian beer selection this side of Antwerp. Yes, it can get rowdy at times, but I also would never hesitate to take my family there.

Pom Frites!. Don’t know anything about the Feather Bowling or other charms of this place. But my wife and I fell in love with pom frites while in Europe and the Cadieux Cafe has them. Occasionally, we’ll stop by and just order a take-out order and we are happy people.

Great place to go when in Detroit. Love the pomfrites which I guess means twice-cooked french fries. Instead of using ketchup on these I try mixing about a teaspoon of Frank’s Hotsauce with their mayonaise container they bring you. Use that instead to dip your fries in and you will never do it any other way again.

The Cadieux Cafe. My grandfather used to take me to the Cadieux Cafe every Saturday morning, to hang out with the other Buffalos and to play feather bowling. He taught me the game. The Cafe is the last of the great Belgian bars on Detroit’s lower east side. The mussels are to die for!

I love the cadieux cafe! Ron and Paul are the best hosts on the eastside! Mussels, holland melt, portabella burger, grilled cheese, mussel soup and the chicken club(I ask for It on grilled rye) are awesome. They always book the best local bands too! You can’t feather bowl on authentic feather bowling lanes anywhere else in the US. I recommend this place to everyone.

Step back in time. Old world charm – good food and drinks You gotta try a bowl of mussels but even the burgers are good
