Not a True Bar-B-que joint. Wanted a slab of ribs, the sides looked like they had been there since the day before. The ribs had so much sauce I did not trust getting them. I should of been tipped off when the half slab and rib tips have different color sauce on them. But I did, they were more par boiled, and slightly smoked than bar-b-qued. They were tough, tasteless and fatty. Had not seen charcoal in their lifetime. I will not be back.
Bad service fair food. Went for lunch to get a rack of ribs. Facility dumpy but on par for area. Wait was typical for lunch rush. Before I could even order the help was yelling at me through the hole-in-the-bullet-proof-glass to not lean on the railing. I wasn’t but she yelled at me two more times and the all the black girls behind the counter were looking at me like I just bought one of their children. Took her three times to figure out how to spell my simple and common name before she would take my order. Ribs were well BBQ’d but had no flavor other than salt. Had a nice smoke ring so the pitmaster did his job but there was no rub and no flavor other than salt. I like my ribs dry so I can taste the meat but I guess these are only good drowning in sauce to get some flavor.Won’t go back.
Used to be Good…. I had eaten at Uptown BBQ for years but every since they remodeled, it has gone down hill. The sauce which was the BEST EVER no longer taste the same. The meat used to be lean but now it has too much fat and they don’t clean it very well.We used to get their ribs on every special occasion. Now, we don’t even eat there anymore.
