Friendly service to everyone..no matter what you’re background is. I saw white/Blk/Asian/Indian/young/and old. Very good food.

The food has gotten much better here lately. Three or four good experiences in a row. I am back to being a Beggar’s fan.

Overrated? Mmmaybe.. I do love Beggar’s but It’s possibly more for the memories and the atmosphere than the menu. They do have some really wonderful dishes (hello ahi tuna), and a nice wine and beer selection. However, the alcohol is indeed overpriced as perhaps are some of the dishes, but it’s minor enough. It would be excellent if they could offer more wine by the glass, making it more appropriate for a long lunch. If you just want to pop in for a glass and a light lunch, your selection is a very limited on both accounts. It is, however, the perfect atmosphere lingering over appetizers late into the evening. Don’t forget to bring your wine loving friends for half off wine Wednesdays!

Disappointing. I have heard great things about this place over the years, so when I went with friends a few weeks ago, I was excited. The place is over-priced, a server spilled red wine all over a friend’s expensive blouse, the food isn’t that good and the alcohol is much more expensive than it should be. I was very disappointed with the whole experience and won’t be coming back.

Long standing E Lansing favorite. Not much more to say about a restaurant that has survived for more than 30 years. Funky atmosphere and good food. Great place to meet interesting people.

Next Wine Wednesday. Try the Mediterranean Plate appetizer – it’s AMAZING.

Cool place. Great place to grab some food, good beer and wine selection. A good place for breakfast too.
