Yummy. Food is good but they need to work on having a host that stands at the door when people arrive. I am not sure if I am supposed to seat myself or what. I walked in and no one greeted me. Once you’re finally seated the waiters are great and friendly. The food is great and also it is fairly priced.
Just ok. Their food is pretty good but their service is lacking. We went there on a Sunday morning just as they were opening and there was a little line at the door waiting to get in. We were seated with our menus and began to wait for our server. As we waited, we saw a large table of college dudes come in. Their party was so big, they had to use another table. As they trickled in, we just waited. I saw they all had menus at their large table, but their smaller table didn’t have menus yet. Someone came by the small table and said they’d bring them menus right away. We never saw anyone bring them menus. Then we saw their waitress come take their order. All the while, we still didn’t have our waitress and their small table still didn’t have menus. This was after 15-20 minutes of waiting. We decided to just leave. They were so disorganized. First, they waited on a table that came trickling in well after we were seated and did not wait on us. Second, they took the order of the party when not all of them had seen a menu. The servers were rushing around, looking very stressed out and the place had only been open for 15 minutes. I had a feeling we would be waiting forever for service and food and that our servers would be in bad moods, which is why we left. They were unprepared and disorganized and no one seemed happy to be there.
I want Beggars to be great like it was when I was in college but it just isn’t. The service is hit or miss and I have to solve my own problems too often because no one is around to help. Food is usually good though and better than most of the nearby options.
