Good Variety. There is a good variety of veggies and toppings for making a great salad, but remember it is $8.95 lb. for the salad, kind of expensive and it is easy to pile on toppings without thinking. Then if you want extras such as soup, drinks, etc., it adds up and leans to the expensive side. Salad, soup and drinks for 2=$38.00. Parking is a big hassle.

Big pros – big cons. First the pros: the food was super fresh, there’s a great selection of items (amazing, really), plus wraps to make wrap sandwiches, soups (which I didn’t try) and a wonderful fruit bar. Everything was very clean and the selection of dressings was really great. Try the Balsamic Carmelized Onion (I think that’s the name) – it’s delicious.HOWEVER, there are some cons, and to me, they are significant: NO PARKING. OMG, there are like 11 spots, not including the handicap spots. I tried to go here once before and there was nothing available so I just went elsewhere. This time, I ended up parking across the street at Biggby Coffee, because again, there were no parking spots available. The second con is the lack of seating. Maybe 8 2-person tables inside. They currently have a couple tables outside, but once winter hits, the seating is going to be even worse. The owner may want to consider making a couple of those precious parking spots into To Go (10 minute parking) spots only. Really, it was extremely frustrating. I definitely won’t be going here in the winter if I have to walk across the street in the snow, slush and cold. The third con is the price: $8.59 a pound. I had what I considered a small salad, plus a spoonful of beets and mangos, plus an ice tea and I paid $11+. I may not fully understand what the cost of ingredients are, but this seems a little expensive for a salad.I really do want to love this place because Lansing needs a really great salad bar and I see the seeds of this in Leaf. However, the parking, seating and price are considerable barriers for me. I don’t know if the owner got a deal on the rent for the location (in that narrow triangle where Grand River and Saginaw split), but there was obviously a reason for it. I’m not sure if I’ll go back or not.
