I haven’t been a sushi eater for very long, so I am by no means an expert. But I must say, Maru has made me appreciate sushi. It’s always fresh and they never disappoint. I am absolutely addicted to the firecracker shrimp.

Horrible Fish. Big sushi lovers and gave this place a try. Fish was dry and bland. Ordered 4 different types and rolls, sashimi was so awful. NEVER had a bad experience at AI fusion !!!! We even tried the Maru in Okemos, thinking it was going to be different. It was the same, dry old fish. Please don’t waste your time if you love sushi.
Great!. Our server, I believe her name was Taylor, was awesome. She let us take our time but knew everything about the menu which is impressive considering it’s a newer location. We were extremely satisfied with our experience–I was a little nervous that it wouldn’t be up to par with the Okemos location but I was wrong. It was great and I will be visiting again!
A Great Experience!. My husband and I were in the area for his work related travels. We stayed in East Lansing overnight and because we adore sushi, stayed at a place that happened to have a sushi restaurant within walking distance. Just so happened it was the new 2nd location of Maru Sushi & Grill. What an experience! We walked in to a very friendly staff and the chefs are awesome. The food was AMAZING! My only regret is that we don’t live in the area. We would visit this establishment frequently.
Sooo Good!. It’s a little more expensive here, but SO worth it! Rolls are unique, delicious and so fresh. Vegetarian rolls are amazing too.
Maru’s newest location lives up to the high quality standards you expect. Quality ingredients, good service and a great atmosphere. The East Lansing location has a sushi bar AND a drinking bar with beer taps.
