Viva el Gordo. I really really love Panchero’s – the fresh-pressed tortillas are great and their carnitas are delicious. I’m not sure what everyone is complaining about as far as their portioning – I’ve never found it inadequate – If you’re really hungry and want way more food than a human should (and potentially can) eat in a sitting, order the el Gordo – it’s a double-sized tortilla (they literally just smash two dough balls together before pressing em) and you can mix two types of meat (my favorite is carnitas and chicken). Add queso – seriously. And their blue corn chips are amazing. Compared to Qdoba or Chipotle, Panchero’s is streets ahead.

Great, and veggie-friendly. Panchero’s charges a premium price to serve you a freshly-pressed giant tortilla stuffed with food (and yes, get the burrito). There are lots of potential up-charges, but you can get away at the basic price easily. Guac and pepper mix are extra, but jalapenos and pico are free. Learn the ins and outs, and you can get as much stuffed into one wrapper as you can handle (rice, chicken, beans, hot salsa, jalapenos, and corn please- then I get a bag of chips and scoop nachos out of the burrito shell). For that guy who goes to a buffet just to order a stack of steaks, Panchero’s probably looks pretty sad just throwing a USDA serving size of meat into a meal (okay yeah I’m ranting), but if you like good beans and rice with sides then this place is very nice, and the serving of meat is plenty for the burrito.

Meh. Why?. Dont be fooled. These guys want you to pay 7 bucks for a ton beans and rice, but when it comes to meat, they serve it up in a laughably tiny spoon. If you want a decent sized burrito that actually has an adequate amount if chicken, be prepared to shell out 11-12 bucks. I am done giving them my business.

Best tortillas!. Beats ANY casual fast Mexican joint as far as the tortillas are concerned! The Queso dip is best cheese dip in town!

Great burrito. This place is known for its big burritos and it delivers. i have been eating at pancheros since i was a spartan undergrad (a long time ago) and its consistantly tastey!the bathrooms aren’t always clean – and the service isn’t always the quickest – but the burritos are always good!

Super bad service at Grand River Pancheros before U2 concert! Waited in line for over an hour (all EL restaurants were busy). Got to the front of the line and they only had two guys working. They were out of tacos, lettuce, guacamole, forks, and knives! Trash was overflowing! Bathrooms reeked! The concert had been planned for over a year so they really have no excuses for being short-staffed and unprepared as to run out of food. Oh yeah, and they could not make change cause they ran out of coins. BAD all around!
