Not impressed.. Everyone raves about Peanut Barrel, so when I finally got a chance to visit I was really excited. Unfortunately I was not impressed. Just your average burger place. The cheap prices is probably the real draw. Does have a nice patio for summer.
Where are the peanuts?. Decent burgers and fries, nothing out of the ordinary, and the prices are very student-friendly. Apparently this place is named the Peanut Barrel because you’re supposed to get peanuts, however, my friends and I never received any … where were the peanuts?
AVERAGE. Nip & Sip in Lansing has the BEST olive burger in town. Their burgers are pretty decent here though but I can also go to Nip & sip or crunchys for a good burger. This place is also very small. I am not sure why people even come here. Their food is average to bad.
Greasy Grub. This is the place to go when you need that burger and chili fries grease fix. Their burgers are a solid 1/3 lb. Your stomach won’t feel cheated. For picky mushroom burger eaters, the mushrooms are not freshly sauteed. It looks like it is from a can or jar but if that does not bother you, this is a decent dining spot.
Fun. The food was good just like a lot of people here stated, but like a lot of college bars it is the people watching that is fun. I should mention that my Long Island was SOOO strong it had no color … LOL
Good Food, Laid Back. The Chicken Border sandwich (grilled chicken, swiss, medium peppers) was great, fries are nice, prices were very decent. Simple menu and nice atmosphere. I don’t like olives but the olive sauce was dece.
Decent burgers, good place to drink. The burgers aren’t bad, but I mainly go here to have a few beers and shoot the bull. I can walk in here by myself and always have good conversation with people I’ve never met before–student or otherwise.
