Still the Best Desserts!!. Their Pastries, Sandwiches and YES their coffees are all good.I agree with WONDERFUL…..it is not that big of a place and it gets very crowded sometimes…while it is close to campus, it is still a business! Relax and Enjoy at the cafe AND if it’s busy for courtesy reasons…..read your books at more appropriate locations.18 Nov, 2011Wonderful!. The food is only surpassed by the friendly people that work there! Angie is the Owner and I think Troy, who does most of the baking, is also part owner are very accomodating. The sandwiches are great…but the desserts are really good. I have had some of the specialty drinks, awesome. I am not a huge coffee drinker but my friends have told me it is the best in the area!
Best Coffee Shop/Place to study!. Awesome staff. They always are so sweet and helpful. Ate there for the first time and the soup was delicious. Such a great place to study or have a group meeting. My group sat here for hours and we loved it. Thanks for being so helpful! Will continue to come back!!
Wonderful!. I LOVE this place. It is unfortunate that the one reviewer took exception to being asked to move, BUT, it is a fair request. When you have an influx of customers, they expect to be able to sit. It doesn’t matter that the students kept ordering. There are placards around regarding this policy, and my experience in other coffee shop- type establishments have similar policies. The difference here is the wonderful food and baked goods. The soups are not to be missed either! We go there as often as we can, and I highly recommend it!
Reccommending Red Cedar Cafe. We had just got back in town for the Holiday’s and we were going to a family Christmas party. No time to bake, shop etc. were we ever lucky that the Red Cedar Cafe was reccommended as a source for a dish to pass. The pumkin cake was to die for and our luch was very good as well. Great place to eat, friendly service and very clean.
Friendly Atmosphere. Excellent pastries, food and great coffees. I love all of their soups! Decor is very welcoming with a very friendly staff.
Disparaging Treatment. I have spent a lot of time here over the past couple of weeks eating and studying. Originally, I was impressed – the baked goods were delicious and coffee was good. However, I have been extremely disappointed and offended at the treatment of students by the management. I understand the influx of students around finals time can be irritating since more tables are taken. Unfortunately, the demeanor displayed by the owner when asking students to move was atrocious. Students were willing to comply with the seating policy – a fellow friend even sat with a stranger at a tiny table to ensure tables for the lunch rush. The attitude and behavior of the owner when asking to consolidate tables was extremely rude and disrespectful. Frustratingly enough, the owner continued to complain to customers, at least four times, about the students who were studying and hadn’t left. We had continued to purchase food and drinks throughout the day and spent a minimum of $30 each. We were treated disparagingly, as if we were free riders who had purchased nothing. It was most disappointing to note the childish behavior exhibited by a grown woman – gossiping about students who are still present and who have done nothing but help your business. Basically, I will NOT be returning here. If you are a student, DO NOT STUDY HERE. The treatment you will receive by the owner is childish and ridiculous – rudeness and dirty looks.
Jules. This’ is our new favorite place! Great service, food and people. We’re there several times a week. However, something needs to be done about all the students taking up tables for long periods of time–1 or 2 people spread out laptops, books and papers on 2 and 4 person tables. They don’t seem to be eating or drinking anything other than water. We have seen people–other than students– walk out as soon as they come in when it’s obvious there’s no place to sit.
