Poor service. My family and I , a group of 8 people wanted to eat at Sagano on Monday 5/11. Two of us arrived first and were told they could not seat us until the entire party arrived. When 2 more of our party arrived we informed them . They told us again to inform them when the entire party arrived. Now we have been there 15 minutes. the rest of our party arrived, we again spoke with the hostess to inform her the entire party was here. After at least 15 minutes we returned to the hostess station and was told they were working on getting the table set up. At that point we had already waited 30 minutes. We also stated we were wiling to sit in the side dining room , we were not allowed to sit in there either. We had also informed the hostess we did not want to sit a the grill. After not being seated after waiting for over 30 minutes we left and went to Ruggeros and had a wonderful meal with several bottles of wine. This is not the first time our family was less than warmly greeted at Saganos. Our family will NOT BE RETURNING.
Pricey but worth it.
Totally uncalled for experience. Had dinner there last year with 3 others. I don’t think I’ve ever, at least that I can remember, had such uneven service. Apparently they have 3 different areas that their meals are prepared, and as it happened, my meal was prepared in a very slow area. Long story short, I did not get it until 30 minutes after the others got theirs. Although I encouraged them to eat, as I didn’t want theirs to get cold, they were reluctant to do so, but did slowly, hoping mine wouild show soon. Alas, mine was not only 30 minutes but even then, came (slowly) in parts. Needless to say, I ate alone, while they waited for me! AND, the staff was not very apologetic, as though it was usual. Haven’t been back since.
Tough chicken. The hibachi part of the restaurant is very LOUD. The chicken was inedible-do not order it. The hostess is quite rude. The sushi is very good and served pretty quickly. So, if you go there, go for sushi, not the teppanyaki chicken.
I have always had good sushi at sagano until this evening ..I ordered a spider roll to go. What a joke! there was soft shell crab only on one end and the rest of the roll was filled with imitation crab. I called them back and asked when they started using the fake crab in place pf the soft shells.,they were rude and told me it wasnt fake. I have the pics to prove it. They are going downhill and by serving substandard rolls. They will no longer be getting my business.
Hibachi Heaven.. I never leave here unhappy. The service is pretty good, sometimes slow but it’s a popular restaurant so what can you expect? The cooks are funny. The food is delicious. You can’t beat vegetable hibachi lunch for only $6.00.
Best Sushi in the Area. I hate to say it, but its the only place to go for Sushi in the area. I’ve had bad experiences with their service, the lady/manager is very rude and there are many who would agree with me. However, she isn’t going anywhere and I love sushi. I tried Ichiban as an alternative but there is no comparison. Sagano will be the only place I go for sushi, unless I want to drive an hour away.
